Add & Manage HCMS Content in an App

This article walks through how to give app users the ability to view and update HCMS content. Forms with an HCMS submission event configured can be selected. Users can then choose which HCMS attributes they would like to display as columns within the app.

 

This feature can be used to update and manage HCMS content items such as Legal Notices or equipment rentals.

 

Important Note

  • Only app users will be able to view and edit HCMS content.

Add HCMS Content to an App

  1. Add an HCMS Submission Event to a Form
    Submission Event HCMS.
  2. Navigate to Apps and click Manage next to your desired app
    Manage App.
  3. Select the Content tab
    App Content tab.
  4. Under Menu Items, scroll down and click Add Menu Item
    Add Menu Tile.
  5. Select HCMS Content as the Item Type
    HCMS Content Type.
  6. Add a Label
    HCMS Content Type Label.
  7. Select the applicable Form from the drop-down
    HCMS Content Type Form.
    Note: Only forms that have an HCMS Submission Event configured will be displayed in the drop-down.
  8. Choose which Attributes from the HCMS and form elements you would like to display as columns within the app
    Attributes dropdown.
  9. Drag and drop the attributes into the order you would like them to display
    Reorder Attributes.
  10. Click Save
    Save app.
  11. The app tile will now populate with HCMS content from your selected form integration
    HCMS Content table.

Edit HCMS Content

  1. Select Open App on the app with your HCMS content
    Apps card with Open App selected.
  2. Click the pencil icon in the Actions column to submit updates for an item
    Edit HCMS Content.
    Note: Only app users will be able to view and edit HCMS content.
  3. Make changes to the form, as needed
    HCMS Content Form.
  4. (Optional) Choose to Send notifications to users who have subscribed to the relevant HCMS categories
    Send a notification toggle on form.
  5. Click Submit
    Submit button.
  6. The HCMS content item will reflect your updates

Publish HCMS Content

  1. Select Open App on the app with your HCMS content
    Open App button.
  2. Click the Publish Content (globe) icon in the Actions column
    Publish HCMS Content.
  3. Click Publish on the pop-up that says, Do you wish to publish this content?
    Publish Confirmation.
  4. The content will show as Published
    Published HCMS Content.

Delete HCMS Content

  1. Select Open App on the app with your HCMS content
    Open App button.
  2. Select the Delete Content (trashcan) icon in the Actions column
    Delete HCMS Content.
  3. Click Delete on the pop-up that says, Do you wish to delete this content?
    Delete Confirmation.
  4. The content will be removed from the list
    HCMS Content screen with item removed.
