Access
To log in navigate to the CivicPlus Console. If you’re not yet registered, you can ask a colleague to add you, start a free trial, or contact us, and we’ll be happy to help. Once you log in, you’ll be taken to the organization dashboard.
Home
This is the dashboard for your organization. The display shows a list of recently updated Forms and Apps as well as some simple analytics. These options are also available from the side menu, on the left-hand side of your screen.
Static Menu
- Apps: Create and customize apps for your instance
- Forms: Forms are the bedrock of your apps, they can be as complicated or as simplistic as you require.
- Submissions: View the Submission History for a form
- Data Viewer: Data Viewer gives users the ability to view, filter, and download submission data for a form
- Data Manager: Data Manager is where you can configure your Data Manager settings, groups, and users
- Approvals: The Approvals solution allows you to create approval workflows for your forms
- Volunteer: If you have Volunteer enabled for your account you will be able to access it in the side menu
Advanced Tools
- Environments: Environments are used to contain and manage your apps, forms, and info pages. Using environments you can create separate areas for development, testing, and production.
- Lists: Lists allow you to populate select, radio, or checkbox form elements with reusable options.
- Lookups: Lookups allow you to create and store a table of contents within Process Automation (CivicOptimize) that can be looked up against in any form(s).
- Email Templates: Email Templates allow you to customize the body for your Email and Email + PDF submission events.
- Calendar Bookings: The Calendar Bookings feature allows people to book time on calendars using a form submission. Calendar Bookings can be used to schedule appointments with internal staff or even book time with equipment or locations.
- Integrations: Set up and configure Integrations between third-party sites or other CivicPlus products.
Developer Tools
- Dynamic Lists: Dynamic Lists are a way for you to populate form selections automatically from a list of items returned from your APIs.
- Dynamic Lookups: Dynamic Lookups are used to either populate existing form elements or generate form elements by linking to Process Automation (CivicOptimize) hosted or custom APIs. These can be incredibly powerful, from pulling information into a form using your CMS (content management system) to generating entirely custom forms.
- API Hosting: The API Hosting section will display a list of your hosted API endpoints.
- Web/CDN Hosting: The Web/CDN Hosting tab will display a list of your hosted custom web apps.
- Developer Keys: Allows developers to create their own keys inside the console. Keys can be created for Forms, Web Apps, APIs, and PDFs.
- Secrets: Secrets are used to validate the calls that your API (Application Programming Interface) receives to ensure they are legitimate.
- SDK: The SDK (Software Development Kit) is an open-source SDK designed to allow developers easy access to features.
Administration
- Team Members: On the Team Members tab, you will see a list of current users in your organization. Team Members have prescribed Roles.
- Roles: Roles give Team Members access to specific areas and functionality of the console depending on the role they are assigned.
- Auditing: The Auditing section allows admins to view and search logs for all actions within the console.
- Account: The Account menu contains a summary of your Profile, Retention Policies, Data Manager forms, and Usage.
